Goodies from America!

Recently I have taken part in a tea towel swap. That's right! Members of the LSG group of Ravelry Have joined up with partners across the world to swap tea towels and other goodies. I am a bad swapper and haven't sent mine yet. It's going tomorrow!

I got my goodies today from a lovely knitter in Idaho called Jackie. She sent me two towels, some sweets and chocolate from Idaho and some mini skeins from the Little Red Bicycle. Yummy!

Thank you Jackie!

Sewing Sunday

Look what I made! I wish I could keep it but it's a present. Maybe I'll make another for me.

Longleat!

Last week, after our holiday which now feels a long time ago, Phill and I went to Longleat Safari Park. We had tickets from Tesco so it was freeeee! Hooray!

I fed a giraffe

And we fed deer

and a monkey climbed on our car!

Then we saw rhinos, an elephant, lions and tigers (no bears!), a wolf, gorillas and hippos. What an excellent day!

Ten four rainbow lorikeets landed on Phill. Only one of them pooed on him!

Asparagus

It's asparagus season. Not that you'd really know as there isn't much in the supermarket :-(

Today I went out for lunch for my birthday with Phill, my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, Jemma. This was the table decoration! Brilliant! Lunch was delicious too.

Work In Progress Wednesday

Here is nearly half of the shrug I'm knitting for the beautiful Jenny's wedding in May. I'm seeing her next Friday so I better get a wiggle on!

Work In Progress Wednesday

I'm just turning the heel on these Green Merino socks. I'm doing them toe up so I can use all the yarn up. They are fab - fun to knit, simple repeat to remember and they look great. I've had plenty of time to work on them while Phill has been in the hospital.

Gardening

Today has been glorious! Bright sunshine all day long so we took advantage of it. Phill put our rotary washing line up but we couldn't really anchor it so off we went to Homebase to get a longer line to string across the garden. So off course, I can't just buy one thing! We also got some little pots to plant seeds in, a strawberry plant in a pot (ignore the horrid faces on the wall!), and some compost.

Then I spent some lovely lovely time in the garden planting stuff. So far I've done the carrots (big ones and little round ones),

courgettes, aubergine, chilli plant, butternut squash and uchiki kuri squash (a Japanese winter pumpkin).

I also re-potted my raspberries into a larger pot. Phew!
